Inspired and driven by his introduction to fashion at a young age and dedicated to making his mark in the industry, Allen Schwartz launched A.B.S by Allen Schwartz in 1982. The company and collections erupted onto the fashion landscape taking leading industry insiders by storm. From the media to retailers everyone took notice of his collections that emulated runway trends, which would be delivered to stores so quickly, they beat other major designers to the racks, but incorporated Schwartz's own unique design edge.
Over the past 22 years A.B.S by Allen Schwartz quickly grew into core collections - A.B.S Sportswear, Dresses, Allen B. Denim and Allen B. Men's. Each collection is created with the latest trends in mind while maintaining the distinct look and feel of the A.B.S by Allen Schwartz label.
In 1999 Warnaco Inc. purchased A.B.S by Allen Schwartz. When Warnaco Inc. filed for Chapter 11 in 2001 Allen Schwartz made the decision to purchase his name and company back. In 2003 Schwartz partnered with Armand Marciano, formerly of Guess Inc., to grow the business. The partnership offers the perfect combination for both businessmen and the company as a whole. This strategic partnership allows Schwartz to focus and closely control design and production while Marciano drives licensee and distribution initiatives.
Today, Allen Schwartz and business partner Armand Marciano are at the forefront of bringing A.B.S by Allen Schwartz to the next level through the use of expansive licensing, distribution, advertising and marketing programs.
A.B.S by Allen Schwartz is a multi-million dollar company and is sold domestically to leading department stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's and Lord and Taylor. Retail price points range from $98 - $400 across all the collections. A.B.S by Allen Schwartz is also sold internationally to stores in the Far East, Canada, Europe and most recently London and Australia. A.B.S also has four freestanding company boutiques across the United States and is carried in over 1200 doors.
